Nuno Espirito: Wolves must be more clinical
After Brighton’s 1-0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday, Wolves boss Nuno Espirito has urged his side to be more clinical.
‘I think how you play is very important’
Speaking after Brighton, Nuno stated:
“We have to react, I think we played well in the last two games we didn’t deserve to lose so we have to maintain our highest standards.
“Everybody was frustrated and disappointed [after losing 1-0 at Brighton], especially the players because they felt we were the better team and we had chances.
“I think how you play is very important. Of course the result can tell you a lot of things but it is how we play, how we create chances, how we manage to unbalance other teams and create opportunities and at the same time control our defence.
“We are optimists for the game [against Spurs].
“It is not the results, it is how you do things. We reacted from the Watford defeat when we didn’t play well. We played well against Brighton so how we did it is what motivates us for the next game, it is not the results.”
Wolves vs Tottenham
Wolves are currently 10th in the table after 10 games having won four, drawn three and lost three.
However, their biggest problem this season is their lack of goals.
In 10 league games this season, Wolves have managed to score just nine goals.
This failure to take chances is largely what caused them to lose vs Brighton on Saturday.
Wolves next fixture sees them taken on Tottenham this coming Saturday.
Luckily for Wolves, it will be Spurs third game in five games, so, they may not be 100% meaning Wolves could get something out of the game.
