No-brainer: 98% of Liverpool fans polled want £18m-rated star in the starting XI over Lallana

At the weekend, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had the opportunity to rest some players against Cardiff City.

Alberto Moreno came in for Andrew Robertson, Dejan Lovren started instead of Joe Gomez and Adam Lallana got some minutes in place of James Milner.

For the first time in years, the Merseyside outfit have more quality in their squad, which allows Klopp to tinker with his team more regularly.

One man who has been warmly welcomed into the Liverpool family is summer signing Xherdan Shaqiri.

For the majority of the season the Switzerland international has had to settle for a bit-part role, but when he has been on the pitch his talent has been evident.

Shaqiri – valued at £18m by Transfermarkt – replaced Lallana just after the hour-mark against Cardiff and he went on to score his first Liverpool goal in a 4-1 triumph.
