Chelsea planning a potential move for Suso

The only side in England yet to be beaten in any competition so far this season, it appears that Chelsea are already making January transfer plans.

According to reports in Italy, as cited on Sport Witness, Maurizio Sarri’s side are keeping tabs on AC Milan midfielder Suso.

It has been suggested that the Blues have already put the wheels in motion to meet the 24-year-old’s €38 million release clause.

Suso attracting Chelsea’s interest

Finding the net in Sunday’s 3-2 win over Sampdoria, it is no surprise that the twice-capped Spanish international is being linked with some of Europe’s most prestigious sides.

Of AC Milan’s 18 Serie A goals this season, Suso has been directly involved in 10.

The one-time Liverpool misfit now has three goals and seven assists after nine domestic matchups.

The 24-year-old’s form has been so impressive that only Manchester City’s David Silva and Lionel Messi have created more opportunities across Europe’s top five leagues.

The forward’s current deal at the San Siro runs until 2022.

It is also reported that La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid are interested in securing Suso’s services.

Suso happy in Milan?

While Sarri might be desperate to reinforce his attacking options, it could be difficult for Chelsea to bring Suso to West London.

Speaking to Calciomercato last week, parties close to the Spaniard revealed the forward is focused on AC Milan.

“At the moment, he is an AC Milan player. He is very happy there. And he loves AC Milan.”

Sat fifth in the Serie A table, AC boss Gennaro Gattuso has the aim of returning the Rossoneri to the Champions League.
