Mauricio Pochettino’s ‘people’ meet with Real Madrid: One huge omission in the Sun’s transfer story
Tottenham 0 – Manchester City 1
Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League on Monday night at Wembley.
Playing on an awful pitch, Riyad Mahrez’s first half goal was enough to defeat Tottenham.
Man City moved above Liverpool on goal difference, while Tottenham remained in fifth spot in the division.
Mauricio Pochettino’s ‘people’ meet with Real Madrid
Everyone knew this was coming…
Following the Man City game, the Sun have trumpeted the rumour that Mauricio Pochettino could walk out on Tottenham to join Real Madrid.
After the 5-1 thumping at Barcelona in El Clasico, Real Madrid have sacked Julen Lopetegui.
Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte had been tipped as the frontrunner for the Madrid job, but Conte appears to have rejected that offer.
Could Pochettino leave Spurs to join Los Blancos? The Sun try to scare Tottenham fans on Tuesday with the following report:
Real Madrid want Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager by the end of next month.
Representatives from the Bernabeu met with people close to Pochettino in London last week and gave promising reports to chairman Florentino Perez.

What the Sun don’t tell Tottenham fans
There’s one massive omission in the Sun’s article.
Famously, Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t have an agent.
Put another way, Pochettino doesn’t have representatives or people who do the talking for him.
The Spurs manager is rather unique in top flight football for his lack of representation.
Sadly, that key piece is information is nowhere to be found in the Sun’s article on Tuesday.
So who are these ‘people close to Pochettino’? Do they even exist?

It also needs to be stressed that Pochettino has recently put distance between himself and the ongoing Real Madrid rumours.
When asked about those stories, Pochettino swatted those rumours aside noting he pays no attention to the media or social media.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino on the Real Madrid rumours: "I don't have social media, I don't receive information. That's why my head, my face I look younger than I actually am. Stuff like that happens in football. You can't change anything."#THFC #COYSpic.twitter.com/CfMncNvOqJ
