"Price is too much" - Lots of Liverpool fans react to reported significant Nicolas Pepe update

Lots of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after L’Equipe (via GFFN as subscription needed) reported that the Reds have an €80m (£71.7m) agreement in place with Lille for the transfer of Nicolas Pepe, although Inter Milan, Napoli and Arsenal also find themselves in the same situation.

The Ivory Coast international has dominated the headlines this summer as speculation continues regarding his future, but it appears as if we are reaching a conclusion based on this news.

Pepe shone in 2018/19 for the Ligue 1 side, helping them to a second-place finish and a Champions League spot for next term.

The 24-year-old netted 22 league goals – second to only Kylian Mbappe in the scoring ranks – but also created 11 more for his teammates to showcase his creative side.

Liverpool are yet to sign a first-team player this summer, with only 17-year-old Sepp van den Berg coming through the Anfield door, but that may be about to change if the 6 foot attacker chooses the Reds over the other three teams involved.
