"A talent waiting to explode", "Doing bits" - Plenty of Crystal Palace fans gush over 5ft 8 ace

Lots of Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Max Meyer, after the German put in a wonderful performance against Bristol City as the Eagles strolled to a 5-0 win.

The former Schalke man played a key role in both Andros Townsend and Jeffrey Schlupp’s early strikes, before going on to find the back of the net himself with a well-taken dinked effort in the second half.

The 23-year-old also played in Townsend to square for Connor Wickham to net the fifth goal, on an afternoon where the 5 foot 8 attacking midfielder was at the heart of everything Roy Hodgson’s side did well.

Meyer endured a frustrating campaign last term in his debut season at Selhurst Park, netting just one Premier League goal and finding himself playing out on the left 12 times, despite the fact he appears to be better suited to a central role.

In the video below, find out which Chelsea academy prospect is reportedly being lined up to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka at Crystal Palace…

Let’s take a look at how the Palace fans on Twitter reacted to his performance against Bristol City…
