'He can go', 'Are people really that bothered' - Leeds fans react to update on future of £2.3m-rated star
Leeds United director of football Victor Orta held a live Q&A session on the LUTV app earlier this week where he discussed a number of topics.
One subject matter was the future of striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who is currently on loan at the Championship club from Bundesliga side Hamburger SV.
The 26-year-old, who is valued at £2.3m by transfermarkt.co.uk, moved to Leeds last summer, and has scored 10 times in 24 Championship appearances during the 2017-18 campaign.
Orta claimed that Leeds were working on a potential deal for the centre-forward, although it is currently unclear whether the Whites already have a permanent transfer agreement in place which can simply be activated.
The Championship club’s supporters have been reacting to the update, and there are a number that would not be too bothered if Lasogga did not return, despite the fact that his record for a first season in English football is impressive.
A selection of the Twitter reaction to Orta’s comments can be seen below:
Orta on Lasogga's future after his loan – he has one year more of his contract at Hamburg. Pierre is happy in Leeds and it's a situation we can discuss and it could be a possibility. We're evaluating it. #lufc

wasn't entirely clear from Orta's answer if there's a specific option in Lasogga's deal to make the move permanent but from what I was told last summer, there isn't one.

What’s to assess? Prob get him for £2-3m and even on big wages, be miles better deal than Gestede type signing. Will be worth £20m+ after 25 goal season

That’s Lassoga gone then 😂😂

Think he still has an awful lot between now and the end of the season to prove to LUFC he warrants a significant wage

Are people really THAT bothered? Yeah he's scored a few goals but how many games has he played where's he's been shocking? People were screaming for him to be gotten rid of a few weeks ago now all of a sudden it's #signlasogga lol
