Fears for Everton’s Sam Allardyce & Steve Walsh
Sam Allardyce & Steve Walsh
Who will be in charge of Everton at the start of the 2018-19 season?
The Times on Wednesday are reporting that Everton could be set for some big changes behind the scenes this summer.
At one point this season, Everton were in danger of going down. That lead to the club appointing Sam Allardyce as their manager.
In the recruitment department, Steve Walsh joined the ranks at Goodison Park from Leicester.
Yet, according to the Times, both Big Sam and Steve Walsh could be looking for new jobs soon:
Farhad Moshiri, Everton’s main shareholder, is facing important decisions over the future of the manager Sam Allardyce and the club’s director of football Steve Walsh.
Watford old boy Marco Silva
If Everton do get rid of Allardyce, former Watford manager Marco Silva could get the job instead.
Of course, Everton tried and failed to land Silva from Watford earlier in the season. The Hornets rejected a 15 million pound offer for their boss, who has since been replace by Jave Gracia at Vicarage Road. The Times report:
Silva remains an option but Moshiri will consider alternative candidates when weighing up his decision.
As for a possible replacement for Steve Walsh, Everton are also making plans:
Walsh is under pressure for the failed impact of numerous signings. Marcel Brands, PSV Eindhoven’s sporting director, is under consideration to replace him.
Burnley vs Everton
Sitting ninth in the Premier League, Everton travel to Turf Moor next weekend to take on Burnley.
Burnley are seventh in the division, although the Clarets haven’t won a match in 12 games.
When the sides met earlier in the season, Burnley won 1-0 at Goodison Park. Jeff Hendrick was the match winner on that occasion.
A win over Everton would pull them level on points with Burnley.
