Manchester City to beat Arsenal 2-1 is 7/1 with Paddy Power.

Arsenal will be hoping to restore some pride following Sunday’s Cup Final defeat, but it’s hard to see past what would be Manchester City’s third win over the Gunners this season alone.

Arsenal vs Man City: Premier League Preview preview

Arsenal host Premier League leaders Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

The match comes less than a week after the two sides faced each other in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

Man City lifted the cup after a comfortable 3-0 victory. Sergio Aguero capitalised on some questionable defending to give City a relatively early lead, before Arsenal’s misery was compounded by goals from captain Vincent Kompany and David Silva.

Due to the cup final, Arsenal and City come into the match having played a game fewer than the teams around them. Despite the game in hand, City maintain an incredible 13-point advantage over city rivals Manchester United.

Are Arsenal still in the top four hunt?

Arsenal, meanwhile, come into the match in sixth place, with hopes of a top-four finish quickly diminishing.

Arsene Wenger’s side are 6th in the table, 10 points off of Spurs in 4th.

The Gunners have lost three of their last four fixtures in all competitions and will be desperate for a win on Thursday night.

Although Arsenal boast a decent home record, Man City’s away form this season is even more impressive. Guardiola’s side have picked up as many points on their travels this season as Arsenal have at the Emirates.

That said, City have failed to win their last three matches on the road in the Premier League, after being held to draws at Crystal Palace and Burnley, and losing at Anfield.

Man City also won 3-1 in the reverse fixture at the Etihad in November. Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus scored either side of a Sergio Aguero penalty. Alexandre Lacazette netted a second-half consolation for the Gunners.

Arsenal team news vs Man City

Wenger will likely revert back to a flat back four on Thursday night after Sunday’s hammering.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to return to the starting eleven. The Armenian was cup-tied on Sunday.

Nacho Monreal picked up a back injury in the final. Sead Kolasinac, who came on for Monreal at Wembley, or Ainsley Maitland-Niles could start at left-back.

Santi Cazorla remains a long-term absentee.

Man City team news vs Arsenal

Raheem Sterling is set to return after missing out on Sunday’s cup final.

Fernandinho is likely to miss out due to a hamstring strain picked up at Wembley, although it isn’t thought to be serious.

Gabriel Jesus came off the bench on Sunday and is in contention to start.

Having completed 90 minutes on Sunday, Vincent Kompany could be handed a rest by Guardiola, which could see either one of Amyeric Laporte or John Stones step into defence.

Fabian Delph continues a suspension, meaning Danilo could keep his place at left-back.

Emerson will likely return to goal in place of Claudio Bravo.

Benjamin Mendy remains sidelined until at least April with a serious knee injury.
