"Liability", "Plain reckless" - These Spurs fans react to 26-year-old star's controversial act
Tottenham can still dream of Champions League knockout stage qualification after they edged out Inter Milan in a tense 1-0 win at Wembley on Wednesday, but some fans feel that Erik Lamela was lucky to be on the pitch for the celebrations at the final whistle.
The 26-year-old has a tendency to go flying in and lived up to that reputation as he jumped with both feet into Marcelo Brozovic – the Croatian had gotten away with a few cheeky fouls previously and should probably have been booked so this may have been an act of revenge but, still, there is no condoning this in the game and the Spurs man was fortunate to walk away with just a booking.
Lamela was recalled to the Argentina national team recently and is just one of a number of players in Mauricio Pochettino’s camp to experience a rejuvenation this season, with both Moussa Sissoko and Lucas Moura having huge impacts too, however, this Wednesday whacking shows that the midfielder could still work on his discipline.

I love him but Lamela has to come off, he’s a liability! #COYS

Alright that Lamela tackle was risky to say the least but we could’ve easily had a penalty & how Brozovic hasn’t been booked is beyond me! Have to get Son on! #COYS #TOTINT

Lamela should have been red carded … bad tackle

We were saying that about Dele a little while ago, Rick. Since that tackle at Burnley last season Dele has been on his best behaviour and is a better player for it. Lamela was plain reckless there, lucky boy #COYS

Which team is the dominant force in London right now? Playmaker FC’s Tom Skinner has a very unpopular opinion on the matter. Check it out in the video below…
