"Dembele should be gone now" - These Tottenham fans react to boost that will delight Pochettino
Moussa Sissoko’s Spurs kept themselves in the running for a Champions League knockout stage spot as they broke the deadlock late on versus Inter Milan to claim a well deserved 1-0 victory – the Frenchman was the standout performer as he once again reminded fans why the club paid £30m for his services in 2016.
The former Newcastle man used his pace and power to break away from the Nerazzurri midfield before playing in Dele Alli, who in turn found Christian Eriksen, who found the net.
Wednesday night’s showing was the latest in a string of quality performances from the versatile midfielder and he is stepping up to the plate in the absence of Mousa Dembele.
Spurs host Arsenal this weekend and fans will be hoping that the 29-year-old can carry his form into the north London derby by eating up both ground and players as he did against Inter.
Here’s how the White Hart Lane faithful reacted on Twitter, with some calling for the Euro 2016 star to become the perennially injured Dembele’s replacement.
Gareth Bale had an awful first two years at Spurs and look what a player he turned out to be. Hopefully the same happens with Moussa COYS

Finally seeing the Sissoko we wanted when he was signed. Like a lot of the fan base I gave him the brunt end of things (tho never wished him bad) but thrilled to see him do so well & hopefully he keeps it up. His power & pace is superb to us, him & Winks looked a good CM pair

He has become so dominant in the middle of the park for us. He is potentially our dembele replacement. I’m not comparing him to dembele by any means but Sissoko can certainly replace him.

Sissoko is also doing what he was actually bought to do. Don’t think he’s been helped with the positions he’s had to play before, or the fact he’s been hammered by fans even when he hasn’t been as bad as made out. Dembele should be gone now

Sissoko might as well start packing Dembele’s suitcase for him now tbh…
