'Very Championship', 'Quality' ... These West Ham fans react as Pellegrini puts faith in teenager
According to reliable club insider @ExWHUemployee on Twitter, West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini could be ready to put his faith in Sead Haksabanovic this season, and Irons fans have been quick to react to the news.
The east London outfit have lost Manuel Lanzini for the long-term after he picked up an injury while on international duty with Argentina prior to the World Cup, and they are yet to sign a like-for-like replacement for the 25-year-old despite strengthening in other areas.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old Haksabanovic has impressed for the Hammers during pre-season, and it seems as though his boss has been impressed with what he has seen from the teenager and could be ready to give him an important first-team role covering Lanzini during the 2018/19 campaign.
West Ham supporters, 71% of whom polled by us want their club to sign a former Arsenal midfielder to replace Cheikhou Kouyate, took to social media to deliver their verdict on the potential decision, and while one said “in my eyes he is very Championship”, another said “he has unbelievable talent”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
That’s what I think, it looks unlikely that we will replace Lanzini, and Sead is the nearest in terms of how they play. He could easily play such a key key role

Cheers for the reply! Would love to see the lad become a big part of the team, would make a change that someone we bought with potential actually breaks through

Every time I've ever seen him play he's beat players. Has control of the ball. Moves it well has a lot of ability. Seems to be looking for the confidence from his team mates a lot though. He defo needs to be more positive but has a lot of potential

He has unbelievable talent. Still shocked he never gets a run. Skill pace. I hope he takes this chance.

He’s quality but he’s still young. Gametime & proper training will improve him but everything I saw from him before he signed and for the PL2 side is he’s still an unfinished product. He’s no Lanzini yet, but if he develops under Pellegrini I think he could well be pushing for it
