Everton fans are absolutely crucifying Michael Keane, after the Englishman struggled in Saturday’s pre-season defeat to Stade Rennais.

Everton followed up the disappointing result at Blackburn with another poor showing this weekend, conceding four goals in France.

The Toffees finally kicked off their summer business with a big move for Richarlison, but the defence is still dangerously short of youth and quality.

Phil Jagielka is past it and Leighton Baines is expected to be replaced, but fans are growing increasingly frustrated with Keane, who was supposed to fix some of these problems.

The former Burnley ace signed last summer for a fee of around £25m, and improved gradually as the season went on.

Fans are concerned about his lack of pace though, and they’re absolutely crucifying his performance in the pre-season defeat in France.
