Pep Guardiola speaks about ‘toughest decision of career’ at Man City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has spoken about the future of Joe Hart, and claimed that allowing the player to leave the club and not working with him anymore has been the toughest decision of his career.

Guardiola has managed at Bayern Munich and Barcelona, but noted that it’s his time at City that has been the toughest in terms of one decision – and that Hart is someone who he always wants to work with.

He spoke after the game, and Standard Sport report he said: “I think it was the toughest decision I ever made as a manager [to let him go].

“Because he is an incredible professional when we worked together and there are no doubts about his quality.

“I don’t know what happens in that situation, I think West Ham is going to talk with the club, he is our player and if he is not going to continue here [West Ham] next season I don’t know, now is the first I am hearing that information.

“We are going to speak with the club and take the right decision, especially for him.”

Of course, allowing Hart to leave hasn’t done City any harm and the disaster of Claudio Bravo is far in the memories of the fans now, with Ederson a huge part of the title win City managed this season.

Next term, it will be all about retaining their title and the Champions League, with the City board and fans wanting the club to go far deeper into the competition this term considering how they crashed out to Liverpool 5-1 this time.
