Bad for Liverpool: Steven Gerrard says ‘yes’ to Rangers

According to reports in Scotland on Sunday morning, Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has given the green light to Rangers.

After several days of rumours, it’s beginning to seem that Gerrard will leave Liverpool to become the new Rangers boss.

Graeme Murty has been in the Rangers dugout since the departure of Pedro Caixinha.

Rangers are looking to sure up a new long term manager, and Gerrard is top of their wish-list.

Gerrard to leave Liverpool

Gerrard is the current manager of the Liverpool U18 side.

However that’s set to end short, in the Mirror on Sunday can be believed. They’ve told their readers that Gerrard is Ibrox-bound:

Steven Gerrard has said yes to Rangers – and will take former ­Liverpool midfielder Gary McAllister with him.

The Kop legend is excited about the prospect of going head to head with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, his former Reds gaffer.

The story has also been echoed in the Daily Record on Sunday.

Their sports splash has a picture of Gerrard flashing a thumbs-up sign, with the headline reads that the “Kop set (is) set to say yes” to Rangers.

The Steven Gerrard update comes on the morning of the final Old Firm derby of the season.

Will Celtic win the Scottish Premiership by beating Rangers in front of their own fans?

That’s highly likely, as Celtic can seal their seventh successive Premiership title with a win against Rangers on Sunday.

It’s worth noting that Rangers have failed to beat Brendan Rodgers’ side in 10 Old Firm derbies. Indeed, Rodgers has never lost a derby to Rangers.

Will Celtic win the treble?

Celtic have already won the Scottish League Cup, are in the final of the Scottish FA Cup, after seeing off Rangers 4-0 in the semi-final.
