Man United heavily criticised by Sky Sports pundit

Redknapp

Jamie Redknapp has been mocked after once again having a pop at Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, with the pundit questioning why Jose Mourinho decided to put Marouane Fellaini on the field against Arsenal instead of Juan Mata.

Redknapp made the comments before Fellaini came on and scored the winner, and United fans made it clear how much they felt it was Redknapp once again proving he should only be in the commentary box and not a manager.

Redknapp said: “I’m just thinking about Man Utd from their point of view. The game’s going nowhere at the moment and that little fella there, Juan Mata, what must he be thinking? ‘I’m a creative brain, I need to be on this field to make a difference’

“I get the tactic, and the tactic is No. 27, Fellaini, chasing the ball and if they stick it in the box, they might get a knockdown for a header and it works, it’s a Mourinho tactic that’s worked many, many times in the past throughout all his teams.

“But when you want a player at Old Trafford that’s got that little bit of class and quality that can unlock the door – he’s not even getting warmed up. I don’t know what United fans must think but I don’t get it.”

Mourinho

For his part, Jose Mourinho wasn’t too bothered about what anyone else had to say after the game and made it clear that Arsene Wenger’s time at Arsenal was the main thing people should be talking about – and that his side deserved the win.

He also spoke about Marouane Fellaini and said the club are hopeful he will stay – with a move to Liverpool looking less and less feasible as the time passes.
