Everton striker set for Sevilla swtich

Everton have tonight revealed that out-of-favour striker Sandro Ramirez is set to join La Liga outfit Sevilla on loan for the remainder of the season.

Talented youngster

Sandro, a 22-year-old Spanish youth international, had been tipped as one of La Liga’s brightest prospects before his move to Goodison Park last summer, having graduated from Barcelona’s famed La Masia youth academy to eventually link up with the Blaugrana’s first team in 2014.

However, limited chances were forthcoming for the youngster at the Camp Nou, with Sandro eventually departing Catalonia for Liga rivals Malaga in the summer of 2016.

And the striker impressed during his solitary campaign at the Rosaleda, notching 14 goals and 3 assists in 31 La Liga appearances.

Struggles

A number of clubs were said to have contacted Malaga regarding Sandro during last summer’s transfer window, with Everton having eventually secured his signature for a surprisingly low fee of just £5.2 million.

However, things have not exactly gone according to plan for the Spaniard on Merseyside, with Sandro having managed just 3 Premier League starts to this point in the campaign, and just 13 appearances across all competitions.

His only goal for the Toffees to this point came during a 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Atalanta in the Europa League back in November.

Done deal

As a result, Sandro has been heavily linked with a return to Spain this month, with a number of La Liga outfits reported to have made contact with Everton regarding a loan move for the striker.

And, as confirmed by the Toffees themselves across the club’s social media accounts tonight, Sandro is indeed set for a move back to Spain, with Sevilla:
