"Who?" - These Man Utd fans really aren't impressed with report on nine-assist ace
Manchester United are interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn this summer, according to The Sun.
The paper reckon that background checks have been made on the player ahead of a potential bid.
He won’t come cheap though, with the report stating that Villa are more keen on tying him down to a new contract and value him at a massive £50m.
Could Harry Maguire be on his way to Old Trafford? Check out the video below to see why it would make so much sense…
For a player who has not played above English Championship or Scottish Premiership level that’s quite a fee.
McGinn was a big player for the Villans last season, winning player of the year awards voted on by his teammates and supporters while helping them gain promotion through the play-offs to the Premier League – notching up seven goals and nine assists.
His industrious midfield play could well make him a hit in the top-flight, but he’s untested at that level, never mind at the level required to help United push towards a top four position.
It’s fair to say United fans are unimpressed with the transfer links, with many taking to Twitter over the weekend to share their thoughts…
No issue with signing young players, no issue with signing players with potential to be better. But can we please sign players who are actually good NOW? The current crop are garbage. Seen us linked with John McGinn this morning. Nearly choked on my toast 🤢 #MUFC

Reports coming out this morning that we might be in for John McGinn. Evidence if you needed it that #OLE and #MUFC are preparing for live in the #EFL #Championship. Can't wait for Rotherham at #OldTrafford

Am I missing something here but for what reason are we willing to spend silly money on championship players like Mcginn and non regulars like Longstaff. #MUFC

#MUFC already have enough average players. Don’t want to see anymore coming in.
