"More heartbreak for us" - These Newcastle fans react to "inevitable" Longstaff update
Newcastle United fans are worried Sean Longstaff looks destined to leave St James’ Park this summer, with Man United keen on his signature.
The Evening Standard have reported this weekend that the Red Devils are confident of landing the Magpies prospect.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has added Aaron Wan-Bissaka to his squad and the paper say that they will now move on to the rest of their summer targets.
“The club is in state!”… The Playmakers give their first impressions on receiving the sudden news of Rafa Benitez’s departure from Newcastle United. See what they have to say here…
Newcastle fans have had to endure a difficult summer already after the departure of Rafa Benitez and the exit of Longstaff would be another bitter blow as they prepare for the season ahead.
The 21-year-old made a serious breakthrough in the first-team last season and ended the campaign with 13 appearances, with 12 of them coming between Christmas and May.
Evening Chronicle journalist Mark Douglas has suggested he could leave for £25m, which some feel is a fee far too low considering his potential.

These supporters have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all…
Supposedly worth £25 million after 10 good games. Just think his worth if he keeps his form up until Christmas. He’ll be worth at least £40m then. Huge mistake if we sell him this Summer

We’ll replace him with a 5M player from France
Regardless of how much we sell him for
Wish fans would realise this instead of acting like ‘oh 30M i’d sell him for that’ etc, so so thick.

£25m would be an insane price to even consider.

Mark, mike Ashley doesn’t care about bad messages bad press all he cares about is ripping this club apart.

I’d be putting £50mill price tag on his head. The money has gone mental.

Sean has been a credit to local junior football over the summer with him & his brother presenting trophies & spending time with hundreds of kids. He loves Newcastle with a passion & wants to stay but the fat man will just see £££’s & another future England star will be gone

I’m afraid that #nufc is a club set up to profit from young talent, that is why we do not sign older players. The club does not exist to win things, it exists to make Mike Ashley a profit. Longstaff is simply an asset to be sold on.

More heart break for us … but inevitable from the unscrupulous uncaring Ashely of @NUFC Still. We can take some comfort at watching him lose millions when we’re stuck in the championship.
