Raheem Sterling, Vidi, Watford & now Crystal Palace: Chelsea fans keep singing antisemitic songs
Chelsea fans sing antisemitic song at Crystal Palace
Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park on Sunday.
N’Golo Kante scored the only goal of the game for the Blues.
However Chelsea’s victory has once again been undercut by a section of their supporters who continue to be openly antisemitic.
The Times have confirmed that Andros Townsend, a former Tottenham player, was the target of abuse from the Chelsea supporters:
A section of Chelsea fans sung an antisemitic song at Selhurst Park yesterday in the latest ugly show of defiance against the club’s resolve to clamp down on racism.
In what has become a recent theme, especially at away games, the chanting was apparent when Crystal Palace’s Andros Townsend, a former Tottenham Hotspur player, claimed possession early in the game.
Will Chelsea identify who these fans were and hand out banning order?
How can Chelsea stop this from happening in the future?
Social media reaction
Every time this happens, it will be reported.
And every time it is reported, the club's name will be dragged through yet more dirt.
There is only one way to stop this: stop singing it. https://t.co/FxpKTHcXSU— Dan Levene (@danlevene) December 30, 2018
Just to reiterate, as a few of our more 'challenged' supporters have difficulty with this: Chelsea is desperate to get rid of the morons singing racist crap at games.
They despise you.
They want to fill your seats with people who have a brain.
Again: please just fuck off.— Dan Levene (@danlevene) December 30, 2018
Raheem Sterling, Vidi & Watford
It’s been a disastrous end to 2018 for Chelsea with regard to antisemitism.
Of course, Chelsea are owned by Roman Abramovich.
Not only is Abramovich well-known for being Jewish, this year he became Israel’s richest citizen when he became a citizen.
Nevertheless some Chelsea fans have ratcheted up their overt antisemitism as the year has closed out.
To recall the rap-sheet, racist Chelsea supporters were caught on TV verbally abusing Man City’s Raheem Sterling.
In an away match in the Europa League in Hungary against Vidi, Chelsea fans sung antisemitic songs while other supporters connected to the club were pictured with a flag packed with Nazi symbolism.
In the recent away match at Watford in the Premier League, Chelsea fans again sung antisemitic songs.
And now we have this latest incident at Crystal Palace.
