Everton fans upset as Ronald Koeman ‘supports’ Liverpool
Everton & Ronald Koeman
Everton sacked Ronald Koeman a little over a year ago.
Koeman was given his Goodison Park marching orders in October 2017 following a 5-2 home defeat against Arsenal.
That loss left Everton in the relegation zone, although the Toffees weren’t in the bottom three for very long.
David Unsworth took temporary charge before Sam Allardyce was handed the Everton job.
Everton installed Marco Silva in charge in the summer.
Ronald Koeman ‘supports’ Liverpool
These days Ronald Koeman is the manager of the Dutch national team.
With that being the case, Koeman rocked up at Anfield on Saturday to watch Liverpool beat Arsenal 5-1.
Liverpool started with two Holland internationals against Arsenal: Georginio Wijnaldum and Virgil Van Dijk.
Obviously it’s perfectly reasonable for Koeman to be tracking his Dutch stars.
But Koeman ticked off some Evertonians with his support for Liverpool after the Arsenal game. He wrote:
Good game to visit with my sons at Anfield today. Great drive and quality from the (Liverpool) team!
Proud of (Virgil Van Dijk) and (Georginio Wijnaldum) for their performances against Arsenal.
Should a former Everton manager ever praise Liverpool like this?
