How Pep Guardiola has started the mind games before Man City vs Liverpool
Man City vs Liverpool
Thursday night will be huge as Manchester City host Liverpool in the Premier League.
It was another important round of matches in the league over the weekend as Liverpool beat Arsenal and Man City beat Southampton.
Tottenham, meanwhile, dropped from second to third after a home defeat to Wolves.
Liverpool are still in pole position in the title race.
If the Reds can beat the Sky Blues, Liverpool will open up a 10 point lead over Man City.
But if City can win at the Etihad, Liverpool’s lead will be down to four points.
Pep Guardiola has started the mind games
Following Man City’s 3-1 win at Southampton, Pep Guardiola stands accused of starting the mind games with Liverpool.
Guardiola appears to be trying to ease the pressure off his City stars by heralding Liverpool as the best team in Europe.
Pep came out with the following comments on Jurgen Klopp’s side:
We won a lot of games but unfortunately we lost two and we have a rival who at the moment is the best team in Europe, or in the world.

Guardiola has also painted the Man City vs Liverpool match in a ‘do or die’ framework:
We knew that with the position of Liverpool, if we drop points then it is over, it is finished.
It would be almost impossible. Of course they are going to drop points but not too many.
If you want to be there as far as possible until the end we have to remember what happened last season and this as well — apart from the last few days.
