Jose Mourinho’s train no-show: Sacking rumours spread after West Ham

West Ham 3 – Manchester United 1

A quick word about West Ham United.

It’s been an amazing few weeks for the Hammers after a disastrous start to the season.

Many were fearing the worst for West Ham following four defeats to begin the year. But in their last three matches, the Hammers have picked up two wins and a draw.

West Ham deservedly beat Man United on Saturday at the London Stadium. The result rarely looked in doubt after Felipe Anderson’s backheel opener.

A Victor Lindelof own goal and a third from Marko Arnautovic sealed the win. Marcus Rashford scored for Man United.

Will Man United sack Jose Mourinho?

The Mail on Sunday are pushing this angle following the West Ham game.

According to the Mail, Man United’s staff and players have begun openly talking about Mourinho’s possible sacking:

Manchester United staff believe Jose Mourinho could be sacked by the end of this week.

Players and staff were openly discussing the prospect of Mourinho losing his job as they made the journey back by train to Manchester on Saturday afternoon.

Where was Jose Mourinho?

Interestingly, Jose Mourinho was nowhere to be seen after the West Ham game.

United’s squad travelled back to Manchester on the train, however Mourinho wasn’t with the team.

So where was the Special One? The Mail report:

It is expected manager Mourinho stayed down in London, where he still has his family home from his time in charge at Chelsea.

It’s fair to say the Man United squad were downbeat after the West Ham game.
