Transfer battle: Man United and Barcelona to face off for Willian
Willian
Barcelona and Man United are set to face off for Willian, with the Cules reportedly making a £50 million bid for the player in order to beat out Jose Mourinho’s men.
Willian is hot property this summer, and is someone who top clubs are chasing after, with Mourinho making plenty of moves for the player in the past and then being rebuffed due to the winger’s desire to stay at Chelsea.
At the minute, Willian is focusing on Brazil and the World Cup in Russia, where he has a key role for the team, yet his agent will be considering his future – and as long as Antonio Conte remains in charge of the side, Willian looks like heading closer and closer to the exit door.
The Express note that Mourinho is desperate to land Willian, and Chelsea are reportedly bracing themselves for a huge bidding war, with United expected to also make their bid for the player.
Chelsea
Chelsea meanwhile are in limbo, and have not yet sacked Conte – or hired a new manager, with many names linked with the Blues, yet none actually arriving.
Given pre-season starts in a week, it’s alarming, and the chaos at the club has also stopped them making any moves in the transfer market as well, something that has concerned the fans.
At this point, it seems that unless the club are willing to pay off Antonio Conte, he will refuse to leave and the start of Chelsea’s season will be plunged into more chaos and uncertainty.
