'A colossus' - These Tottenham fans are desperate for World Cup star to be at club next season
Tottenham Hotspur supporters are eager to see the club retain the services of Mousa Dembele this summer, after watching him in action for Belgium against England on Thursday evening.
Dembele has just a year left on his contract at the club, meaning they could be forced into selling him in the transfer window so they don’t end up losing him on a free transfer.
He was central to the Belgians 1-0 victory over England last night, demonstrating to Tottenham fans watching on that it could be incredibly hard to replace him if he does leave.
Spurs don’t really have a direct replacement already at the club that is currently performing to the standards he sets and losing him could be a critical blow to their ambitions of challenging for major honours next season.
Should a compromise be reached regarding his Tottenham future?
These fans took to Twitter to share their desire of keeping him around…
Dembele in that first half was like a monster. You saw how he brushed aside the likes of Loftus-Cheek with ease. Still think he can be a key player for Spurs. #COYS

You can only truly appreciate just how wonderful a midfielder Mousa Dembele is when he’s on the side of the opposition.
Has really just hit home just how hard it’s going to be to replace him this summer, so talented on the ball and impossible to simply disposes him.#THFC #COYS

I’d rather keep him and let him go for free in a year time. Mountain of a man.

I really don’t see the need Ricky. When you’ve got one of the best in the game at it why try and replace him? I love him, always have.

Really hope we don’t sell him, would be so hard to replace
