The perfect solution or Llorente 2.0? Spurs fans can't decide on striker swoop
Tottenham are still hunting a deputy striker for Harry Kane, and fans are completely split on making a move for Croatia’s Mario Mandzukic.
While Son Heung-min’s performance against Germany could make Mauricio Pochettino think twice about signing a new striker this summer, most fans are expecting an upgrade on the Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente.
Janssen struggled with injuries on loan at Fenerbahce last season, and Llorente just didn’t cut it in North London.
Much like Llorente, the 32 year-old Mandzukic offers a slightly different presence to Kane, and was particularly dominant in Croatia’s demolition of Argentina last week.
The veteran striker has 30 goals in 85 Croatia caps, and grabbed five goals and three assists in Serie A last season.
Mandzukic could potentially bring the extra goal threat Pochettino is looking for off the bench and finally prevent those end of season ankle injuries for Kane, or he could just be another Llorente.
Fans have been discussing a summer swoop for the the Juventus man since his beastly showing against Argentina, and it’s an almost perfectly even split.
