"Made Dier look dreadful" - These Tottenham fans think Pochettino is making a huge mistake
After finding out what it’s like to be on the receiving end of a Mousa Dembele master class, Tottenham fans are starting to wonder if they’re making a huge mistake letting the Belgian leave this summer.
Dembele is expected to leave North London this summer, as the fan favourite midfielder enters the last 12 months of his contract.
The 30 year-old’s style of play is extremely physically demanding, especially in such a fast-paced league, and he has been linked with moves to both China and Italy.
Mauricio Pochettino has not done much wrong since taking over at Tottenham, but fans are starting to feel cashing in on Dembele is a mistake, after the wiry midfielder dominated Belgium’s 1-0 win over England.
The Belgian beast made four tackles, a total matched only by Danny Rose and Youri Tielemans, and he also completed 99 per cent of his passes. Yes, you read that right; Dembele had a 99 per cent pass success rate.
On the other side, Eric Dier struggled massively, not making a single tackle or interception.
While Pochettino and Daniel Levy will undoubtedly bring in a new signing to atone for the loss of Dembele, playing against him has made fans realise exactly what they’ll be missing if he goes, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
You can only truly appreciate just how wonderful a midfielder Mousa Dembele is when he’s on the side of the opposition.
Has really just hit home just how hard it’s going to be to replace him this summer, so talented on the ball and impossible to simply disposes him.#THFC #COYS

Never should’ve let him go

Took 6 years to replace Carrick, my opinion anyway, Mousa will be a big miss.

I’d rather keep him and let him go for free in a year time. Mountain of a man.

Absolutely spot on Ricky, Dembele is an awesome player, who I personally, don’t think can ever be truly replaced? #longlivetheking

Really hope we don’t sell him, would be so hard to replace

It really is a shame that Poch only got his hands on him when he was 27.
Imagine a Mousa Dembélé at 27 having already spent 4 or 5 years under Poch…. best b2b mid in world football i reckon
