"He's Leeds alright", "Phillips in disguise" - Loads of Leeds fans think ace is right at home
On Tuesday night, Leeds had the opportunity to go one point clear of leaders Norwich but they couldn’t find a way through QPR, whose 1-0 win meant that they avoided going eight games without a victory.
In a disappointing performance from the Whites, they lacked invention on the front foot and the goal they conceded was born of an individual mistake.
Marcelo Bielsa seemed to understand that his side needed some added impetus in the final third and so he brought on Izzy Brown, with the Chelsea loanee finally making his eagerly-anticipated debut.
The 22-year-old has suffered a number of injury setbacks that have meant his maiden appearance under Bielsa has only just arrived and, with ten minutes of the midweek clash left to go, was quick to put his mark on the game.
Who do you want to see promoted this year? The Pl>ymaker FC squad have picked their 3 favoured teams in the video below…
Having only been on the field five minutes, the midfielder absolutely clattered Hoops’ Jordan Cousins and was controversially shown a yellow card – many of the Loftus Road faithful surely felt a red was deserved.
Aside from that, the number 37 did little to impact the game, but Leeds fans on Twitter were at least pleased to see a bit of passion from the Englishman…
