“Forgotten how to play”, “Fluffing it” - These Leeds fans slam 27y/o after poor performance
Leeds United’s title ambitions were dealt a blow on Tuesday night as Marcelo Bielsa’s side slumped to a 1-0 defeat against QPR at Loftus Road.
The Whites had their chances to score, with striker Patrick Bamford and full-back Barry Douglas amongst those guilty of spurning clear opportunities. The defeat has seen Leeds lose the initiative in the title race too, as Norwich City now hold top spot and are two points clear.
Leeds were the dominant side against QPR but couldn’t find any end product. All too often their territory and possession fizzled out into nothing as the killer final pass was lacking. Right-back Luke Ayling was particularly guilty of failing to provide quality going forward.
The 27-year-old defender was consistently let down by his inability to accurately pick out his teammates. The No. 2 should now be taken out of the firing line by Bielsa, who ought to turn to Jamie Shackleton in his place.
After the match, plenty of Leeds fans took to Twitter to give their verdict on Ayling’s display…
Ayling one of the better players? Guy needs taking out of the firing line, been consistently poor for a number of weeks

Dallas for ayling was a good move. He offers loads more going forward. And I think Brown should have replaced Roberts

@LUFC were awful last night. Seemed to be something missing. I think we looked alot better once #Dallas came on. He made a big difference, Luke Ayling just hasn’t been the same since injury. Bloody nervous for Friday now

Bamford has missed 6 or 7 proper sitters since he’s come back in. Ayling has forgotten how to play football, it’s quite clear. Douglas is a similar case to Ayling. Ban them for life.

We can’t keep playing the same 11 expecting things to change. Last four or five games our defence gets the ball and it stops. Ayling fluffing it or waiting too long

Hard to keep faith when he carries on fielding players such as ayling and klich who are clearly in bad form https://t.co/0RSZ6DxE5n

douglas did have a gilt edge chance to score, so not a problem him coming on , brown should have come on much earlier , ayling cant stay in the starting line up now his lost confidance and the home crowd on friday if we go 1 down may vent some frustrations
