'Expensive mistake' - Lots of Everton fans debate deadline-day swoop for 6ft 1in ace
Everton are attempting to sign Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea and have learned that they will have to pay £35m for the forward, according to The Guardian.
Batshuayi spent the first half of this season on loan at Valencia from Chelsea, but managed just one La Liga goal at the Mestalla and returned to Stamford Bridge earlier this month.
It is clear that the Belgium international is not in the plans of Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri this season and a move away on deadline day looks likely.
According to The Guardian, West Ham United had wanted to take the 6ft 1in forward on loan, but Chelsea are keen on a permanent sale.
As a result, Everton appear to be in a good position to sign the 25-year-old, although £35m does seem a lot of money for a player who has not been in good form this season.
The Everton fans have been on social media reacting to the transfer report and a selection can be seen below:
Not good enough for Chelsea or Valencia why overspend again rather wait until the summer.

Don’t think he’s that huge an improvement on Tosun to pay 35mil for him. 1 goal for Valencia this season and can’t even get in the squad now

He will end up at West Ham

He can also play as a winger and a number 10 position if need be. so 3 positions playable

Yes but not for £35M

Depends on his attitude. He has done absolutely nothing whilst at Valencia this season
