Forget Gomes: Colossal Premier League star is the perfect midfield target for Everton - agree?

Everton have been linked with three top quality central midfielders this week, but which one would be the best signing for the Toffees? According to The Mirror , Marco Silva is still a huge fan of Abdoulaye Doucoure, and he wants to bring the towering Frenchman to Goodison next year. Doucoure developed into one of the Premier League’s finest midfielders under Silva, though the Hornets won’t be too happy about selling to Everton after the dispute over Silva’s departure. The report claims the Toffees also have an interest in Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey, who will be a free agent come the end of the season. The Welsh international has scored the winning goal in two FA Cup finals for the Gunners, but is expected to leave North London for free next summer. Finally, fans are desperate to sign Andre Gomes to a permanent deal, as the Portuguese international has been superb since arriving on loan from Barcelona. But which one would be the best fit for the Toffees in the long run? Doucoure is

Tony Pulis’ hatred for ex-Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed

Image
Why Pulis hates Arsene Wenger Tony Pulis is a very experienced Premier League manager. After winning promotion with Stoke and turning them into a solid Premier League side Tony Pulis has earned himself a name for keeping teams in the Premier league. However, during his time as a Premier League boss, it appears Pulis made a rather big enemy in Arsene Wenger. Pulis has played Arsenal and Arsene Wenger 19 times, he has won five of those games, drawn two and lost 12 times. One particular game between the pair stands out, however. That game took place in February of 2010 and was the game in which Aaron Ramsey would break his leg in a tackle with Ryan Shawcross. Get notified! Callum Hudson-Odoi Thought Goal Was 'a Dream' as Youngster Gets Off the Mark for Chelsea First Team

Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi was unsurprisingly delighted after scoring his first senior goal for the club during Thursday night's 4-0 win over Greek side PAOK at Stamford Bridge, also providing an assist for Alvaro Morata to later on. With Chelsea already assured of a place in the Europa League knockout stages, Hudson-Odoi was afforded only his second ever senior start after being given the nod in the Community Shield against Manchester City back in August. 3 Things We Learned as Chelsea Cruised to Victory Against PAOK

Following Chelsea's catastrophic 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, Maurizio Sarri's side were looking to bounce back against PAOK in the Europa League. The Blues were helped out in the seventh minute as PAOK were reduced to ten men following Yevhen Khacheridi's red card. A Giroud double, accompanied by goals by Callum Hudson-Odoi and Alvaro Morata sealed a 4-0 victory for Chelsea. Here are the three things we learned from the game. Virgil van Dijk Insists Liverpool Aren't 'Sh*t Team' But Hints Reds Need to Adopt PSG Tactics

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has suggested that the Reds might occasionally need to take a leaf out of Paris Saint-Germain's book, after the French giants were accused of using playacting to help them beat Jurgen Klopp's side in the Champions League this week. Why Arsene Wenger Is the Perfect Fit to Manage Struggling Bayern Munich

Following a 22-year spell with Arsenal, 69-year-old Arsene Wenger left the Emirates Stadium for pastures new whilst insisting he hadn't retired from football management just yet. During that same summer, two high-profile managerial vacancies arose - Real Madrid and PSG - and the man at the centre of the speculation was the available Arsene Wenger. Huddersfield Among Several Clubs Considering Loan Move for Young Liverpool Striker

Huddersfield are one of several Premier League clubs who are keen on taking Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke on loan in January. Solanke made 21 appearances in the Premier League last season, most of them as a late substitute, but he has not even been in Jurgen Klopp's squad for any league games this season, with Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi having returned from loans to take his place. Klopp suggested last week that Solanke could be loaned out in January and there would be no... from All the latest breaking football news, transfer rumours, analysis, and match reports - 90min https://ift.tt/2E65YM9 via IFTTT

Maurizio Sarri Suggests Hudson-Odoi Not Ready for Premier League Despite Goal in Europa League Win

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri praised starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi, after the 18-year-old bagged his first senior goal in the 4-0 Europa League win over PAOK on Thursday night. However, the Italian manager played down chances of more first team game time for the 18-year-old. Don't do it Klopp: 64% of Liverpool fans polled hope exciting talent doesn't end up at Prem club

When a club has plenty of world-class talent at their disposal, it can be difficult for youth players to break through. At Liverpool, manager Jurgen Klopp has a number of talented attacking stars to select from. The forward line pretty much selects itself, with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane leading the way. Dominic Solanke is one of the club’s fringe players trying to earn a spot in the first team but he is currently struggling to do so. The forward is only 21 years old, but he has not made a single senior appearance this season, having instead to settle for a spot in the Under-23s. According to a recent report from  Sky Sports News , a handful of Premier League clubs are interested in signing Solanke. Huddersfield Town, West Ham United and Crystal Palace have been linked with moves for the former Chelsea ace. However, would it be more beneficial for Solanke to join a club in another division, therefore having more opportunities to play? We asked you the quest

He will shock Liverpool: 67% of Everton fans polled want Silva to take unlikely selection risk

Everton have struggled to replicate the goal threat that Romelu Lukaku possessed following his departure in the summer of 2017. The Merseyside outfit recruited Sandro Ramirez with the hope of him becoming a reliable goalscorer, but it failed to pan out. Cenk Tosun was signed in January of this year, but he has had a hard time finding consistency in the final third. Manager Marco Silva has clearly not been hugely impressed by the Turkish international as he has spent the majority of the season so far watching from the sidelines. On Sunday, Everton face a huge task trying to overcome unbeaten Merseyside rivals Liverpool at Anfield. Due to the lack of firepower up front, Silva has been playing winger Richarlison in a more advanced role, but should the Toffees spring a surprise on their opponents? We asked you if Tosun should be handed the main role up front, and interestingly, the majority believe that the Turkish hitman should be given the opportunity to shine against Liverpool.

Forget Armstrong: 24-year-old Southampton teammate can give Matic nightmares if Hughes is brave

Southampton are in desperate need of the three points when they host an off-colour Manchester United at St Mary’s on Saturday evening. The south coast outfit have won just one of their 13 Premier League matches this season and dropped into the relegation zone last weekend, and the pressure is surely on manager Mark Hughes to get at least a point – if not more – against Jose Mourinho’s men. Even though the Red Devils drew 0-0 at home to Crystal Palace in their previous top-flight encounter and sneaked a last-gasp 1-0 Champions League victory against Young Boys in midweek, it still won’t be an easy task to take the three points given Saints only have won one home league in the whole of 2018. On the chalkboard Whatever Hughes has done in attack this season generally hasn’t worked for Southampton, as they have produced just 10 goals thus far. Two of those came in the 3-2 defeat against fellow strugglers Fulham at Craven Cottage last weekend, with Stuart Armstrong netting his first tw

Pochettino must drop 26-year-old at Arsenal after disappointing display vs Inter Milan - agree?

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino brought winger Lucas Moura into the starting XI for the Champions League win over Inter Milan on Wednesday evening, but the Brazilian didn’t do enough to warrant a spot in the team for the North London derby on Sunday . According to WhoScored , Moura played an impressive four key passes in the clash with the Italian giants, but in truth Tottenham never really got going until the introduction of Son Heung-min for Moura just after the hour-mark. Son, who scored a brilliant solo goal against Chelsea last weekend, should be the one who gets the nod for the derby on Sunday then. Moura, a January 2018 signing from Paris Saint-Germain, started this campaign in strong form after a full pre-season with the Lilywhites, whereas Son has only just started to hit top form having spent the summer at both the World Cup and the Asian Games with South Korea. Moura also proved against Inter that he is too wasteful with big chances, as he fired his only shot of the

Klopp needs to make this big move in order to solve Liverpool's huge problem - agree?

Given that Liverpool are unbeaten in the Premier League and sit just two points adrift of leaders Manchester City, it seems strange to suggest that the team are experiencing some problems. However, throughout the season so far, the Reds have struggled to find that creative spark that earned them so many plaudits during the 2017-18 campaign. The midfield has been an issue as Klopp does not seem to know which his best option is, despite having the likes of Naby Keita, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum, Xherdan Shaqiri and Adam Lallana to choose from. On top of that, the attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have lacked a clinical edge in the final third. With the January transfer window approaching, Klopp may have to make a decision with regards to spending. Although, perhaps all he needs to do is work on the midfield that he currently has. "Sensational", "Keeping us in Europe" - These Rangers fans react to cult hero's stunning display

Loads of Rangers fans have been giving their verdict on Thursday’s Europa League clash against Villarreal, and they are once again stunned by the form of Allan McGregor. You’d be hard pushed to find a player the fans at Ibrox love more than McGregor, and the veteran goalkeeper showed exactly why on Thursday night. The Gers had a great chance to go top of their Europa League group after Rapid Wien nicked an incredible last-gasp win in Moscow, but Steven Gerrard’s side got off to an awful start as Daniel Candeias was sent off just before half time. McGregor helped his side stay well in the hunt for a spot in the next round though, as the 36 year-old made several key saves in the 0-0 draw. Karl Toko Ekambi had the best chance of the game after he latched onto a loose pass from Jon Flanagan, but McGregor was quick off his line to thwart the 26 year-old. Fans are heaping praise on the popular summer signing, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below… Love him —

"Deluded Klopp", "Insufferable" - Loads of Liverpool fans call for one major change vs Everton

Liverpool fans have been looking for silver linings in their defeat to PSG, and Naby Keita’s cameo has got fans calling for a team change. Liverpool were completely and utterly outplayed in the first half of Wednesday’s Champions League defeat, particularly in the midfield. PSG just romped through towards the Reds’ defence at every opportunity, and fans were fuming at the likes of Jordan Henderson and James Milner. Keita replaced Georginio Wijnaldum with 25 minutes to go, and immediately brought a bit more attacking impetus to the midfield. The 23-year-old was regarded as one of the best young midfield prospects in Europe when he moved to Anfield this summer, but a slow start and a hamstring injury has halted his progress. He completed more dribbles and drew more fouls than the starting midfield trio combined on Wednesday, and fans are hoping to see this forward-thinking play in the starting line-up. Jurgen Klopp’s side have the perfect chance to bounce back when they host Evert

"Dembele should be gone now" - These Tottenham fans react to boost that will delight Pochettino

Moussa Sissoko’s Spurs kept themselves in the running for a Champions League knockout stage spot as they broke the deadlock late on versus Inter Milan to claim a well deserved 1-0 victory – the Frenchman was the standout performer as he once again reminded fans why the club paid £30m for his services in 2016. The former Newcastle man used his pace and power to break away from the Nerazzurri midfield before playing in Dele Alli, who in turn found Christian Eriksen, who found the net. Wednesday night’s showing was the latest in a string of quality performances from the versatile midfielder and he is stepping up to the plate in the absence of Mousa Dembele. Spurs host Arsenal this weekend and fans will be hoping that the 29-year-old can carry his form into the north London derby by eating up both ground and players as he did against Inter. Here’s how the White Hart Lane faithful reacted on Twitter, with some calling for the Euro 2016 star to become the perennially injured Dembele’s

Three straight wins shouldn't stop Moore recalling 6ft star to starting XI vs Brentford - agree?

West Brom ground out a 2-1 win away at Swansea on Wednesday thanks to goals from centre-backs Craig Dawson and Ahmed Hegazi, but boss Darren Moore should think about restoring Gareth Barry to the starting line-up for the clash with Brentford on Monday evening. The Baggies fell behind after just 10 minutes at the Liberty Stadium through an Oliver McBurnie strike, but Dawson and Hegazi both scored headers from corners to put the away side in front before half-time. Barry replaced Hal Robson-Kanu in the 95th minute of the game, but his presence in midfield against Brentford could be key for the Baggies. 37-year-old Barry would provide an experienced head in the centre of the park to help West Brom get control of the ball against the technical Brentford side. The 6ft star’s midweek rest will also mean his legs are fresh come Monday night, and rotation will be important for Moore if the Baggies are to navigate the busy winter schedule in the Championship and remain injury free. So, We

'He is the key at the moment' ... These Birmingham fans deliver verdict on 26-year-old star

Birmingham fans on Twitter were delighted with the performance of Gary Gardner in the 2-0 win over Millwall on Wednesday evening, as he impressed on his return from a two-game absence. The 26-year-old midfielder missed the 3-3 draw with Hull through suspension before having to sit out the Second City derby against his parent club Aston Villa after his controversial loan move in the summer. Check out the video below to see how Brazil fans reacted to being asked how Cristiano Ronaldo would perform for them in a hilarious prank by Playmaker FC… Against Millwall though he provided a calming presence in the centre of the park as an own goal from James Meredith and a strike from centre-back Michael Morrison ensured that the Blues left London with all three points and moved up to 10th in the Championship table. Manager Garry Monk also provided Gardner with a reward for his performance by bringing on his older brother Craig with just over 10 minutes to go – the first time the two have li

Try again, Pellegrini: 76% of West Ham fans polled want club to revive summer pursuit of striker

With the hectic festive schedule approaching, West Ham United need to pick up some wins in order to continue progressing up the Premier League table. At the moment, Manuel Pellegrini’s men sit 14th in the standings, six points adrift of the top 10 after 13 matches. The team have only picked up three wins, and to help on the attacking front, the club could end up deciding to bring in a new striker in January. Marko Arnautovic is currently at the top of the pecking order, but problems with a knee injury has poured doubts over his long-term availability. In the summer, a report from  Radio Galega  claimed that West Ham launched a £27m bid for Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez, only to be turned down by the Spanish club. Since the season began, the attack-minded star has scored seven goals and recorded four assists in 11 La Liga outings. We asked you if West Ham should jump back in the market for Gomez, and the majority believe he is worth another offer, but they could face some fierce

'Don't understand Klopp's obsession' - Loads of Liverpool fans slate manager's crucial decision

Liverpool left themselves needing a win at home to Napoli in order to qualify from their Champions League group as they lost 2-1 away at Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday evening, and many fans blamed the result on Jurgen Klopp’s team selection. The main gripe among fans on Twitter was the midfield three of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum, who all struggled to both create anything for the front-three and provide adequate protection for the back four. The Reds were behind after just 13 minutes as Spanish full-back Juan Bernat beat Alisson with a low finish after Virgil van Dijk’s poor clearance. Haven’t seen Paul Pogba’s latest strange photoshoot? You need to check out the video below… PSG then doubled their lead around 25 minutes later as Brazilian star Neymar was allowed to run straight through the centre of the park and eventually finish a rebound from just outside the six-yard box. Milner did pull one back for Klopp’s side from the penalty spot on the stroke o

Disappointment for 6ft 2in star, Janko starts: How Karanka must solve Forest centre-back dilemma

Nottingham Forest centre-back Tobias Figueiredo will miss the visit of Ipswich Town to the City Ground on Saturday following the straight red card he received in the 5-5 draw with Aston Villa. The Reds defender was dismissed for a challenge on Villa midfielder John McGinn, and the news would have come as a big blow to manager Aitor Karanka who is already without Danny Fox until he returns from injury. Even though the Tractor Boys are bottom of the Championship, the east Midlands outfit and their Spanish boss are well aware that there are no easy matches at this level. On the chalkboard When Figueiredo was sent off at Villa Park, Michael Hefele came on to make his first league appearance since the 2-1 defeat to Norwich City in October, sitting alongside Michael Dawson at the heart of the back four. Conceding five goals could be deemed a one-off, but it should also be worrying for Karanka even if it came on the back of three clean sheets – you can’t concede five in one match if you

Major moment in 23-year-old's Liverpool career: Klopp's patience has surely run out pre-Everton

Liverpool will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing display in their 2-1 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the French capital on Wednesday night when they host Everton in the latest edition of the Merseyside derby on Sunday. The Reds failed to get going in the first half at Parc des Princes and quickly found themselves 2-0 behind, and they were unable to turn things around even after James Milner converted from the penalty spot before the half-time whistle. The 32-year-old was part of a midfield trio alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson against Thomas Tuchel’s men, but with all three struggling Jurgen Klopp needs to have a major re-think in the centre of the park for the visit of the Toffees. On the chalkboard Well, the German manager’s job has already been made slightly easier ahead of the clash against Liverpool’s bitter neighbours with Henderson suspended following his red card in the 3-0 win against Watford at Vicarage Road last weekend.

Pellegrini must drop Obiang and reshuffle his West Ham midfield vs Newcastle - agree?

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini may think that a shake-up is in order following last weekend’s 4-0 defeat to Manchester City. It was always unlikely that the East London outfit would get a result against Pep Guardiola’s men, but Pellegrini will be disappointed that his team did not put in a better account of themselves. Pedro Obiang has been struggling to maintain his decent form in the middle of the park, which could result in him being axed from the line-up. West Ham have only picked up three wins in 13 games, but they may feel they have a realistic chance of overcoming Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday even if the Magpies have tasted success in three top flight matches on the trot. Club captain Mark Noble has featured in eight Premier League matches this season and has not played since the end of October when he was sent off against Leicester City. With the Hammers’ midfield needing some care and attention, is Noble the best fit to take on Newcastle? Le

New formation and a boost for Alioski: What Bielsa's big injury update means for Leeds

Leeds are expected to have Pontus Jansson fit and available to play Sheffield United on Saturday, so what could that mean for Marcelo Bielsa’s side? The Chalkboard Bielsa has felt the full impact of the Championship in his first season in English football, as the Whites’ squad has been devastated by injuries. Those injuries have hit hardest in the defence, but Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post reports Jansson is expected to be ready on Saturday. Leeds welcome Sheffield United to Elland Road seeking a third consecutive win, a win that would send them top of the league, but how will Jansson’s return impact Bielsa’s team selection? The return of three at the back? Kalvin Phillips was sensational at centre back on Tuesday , so good that Bielsa might just want to keep him there. The versatile youngster sprays the ball about fantastically from deep, and the boss has experimented with three at the back already this season. A combination of Jansson, Phillips and captain Liam Coope

"Liability", "Plain reckless" - These Spurs fans react to 26-year-old star's controversial act

Tottenham can still dream of Champions League knockout stage qualification after they edged out Inter Milan in a tense 1-0 win at Wembley on Wednesday, but some fans feel that Erik Lamela was lucky to be on the pitch for the celebrations at the final whistle. The 26-year-old has a tendency to go flying in and lived up to that reputation as he jumped with both feet into Marcelo Brozovic – the Croatian had gotten away with a few cheeky fouls previously and should probably have been booked so this may have been an act of revenge but, still, there is no condoning this in the game and the Spurs man was fortunate to walk away with just a booking. Lamela was recalled to the Argentina national team recently and is just one of a number of players in Mauricio Pochettino’s camp to experience a rejuvenation this season, with both Moussa Sissoko and Lucas Moura having huge impacts too, however, this Wednesday whacking shows that the midfielder could still work on his discipline. "Wallace is better" - These Rangers fans are crucifying Gerrard favourite in Europa draw

Loads of Rangers fans have been reacting to Thursday night’s draw against Villarreal, and they’re furious with the performance of Jon Flanagan. Steven Gerrard and the Gers invested heavily in the defence this summer, but after a positive start a few of the signings have lost their way. None more so than Flanagan, who is almost certain to lose his place at left back once Borna Barisic is fully fit. The former Liverpool youngster was given the nod ahead of Andy Halliday against Villarreal on Thursday night, but his first half display in particular was littered with errors. The 25 year-old nearly cost his side a goal when his stray pass led straight to Karl Toko Ekambi, but the Cameroonian was expertly denied by Allan McGregor. One certainly cannot fault Flanagan for his effort and passion for the badge, but Thursday showed he simply doesn’t have the quality to match up to it.
