"We’re dead", "Help" - These Southampton fans react to update on Gao's January transfer plans
Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was reported by The Telegraph that Ralph Hasenhuttl will have a ‘limited’ January budget, and will largely need to turn his side’s season around with the squad that he currently has at his disposal.
Now, this news may potentially worry the St Mary’s faithful.
There are definitely question marks over the defensive options within the Southampton squad right now, as the Saints have conceded the most goals in the Premier League with 31 let in in just 13 games.
Hasenhuttl has also switched between both of his goalkeepers this term in Angus Gunn and Alex McCarthy, while Cedric Soares has revealed his intentions to leave the club at the end of the campaign.
The Telegraph also add that there have been no signs that Gao Jisheng will make significant financial investment, meaning that the Saints’ survival hopes rest on ‘coaching ability and recruitment excellence’.
Let’s see how the Southampton fans on Twitter reacted to the news…
