"Proven winner and organiser" - Many Arsenal fans buzzing with links to man "levels above Emery"
Having won the Italian Serie A multiple times, and reaching the Champions League final on two separate occasions with Juventus, it appears many Arsenal fans are on board with Massimiliano Allegri potentially becoming their new manager.
The Gunners have endured a nightmare start to the Premier League campaign, registering just 18 points from their opening 13 games, and already conceding 19 goals.
That form has led to increased speculation over the long-term future of Unai Emery, with recent reports suggesting that he could have just a month to save his job.
Now, according to journalist Ian McGarry on ‘The Transfer Window‘ podcast, the representatives of Allegri have already been contacted in relation to possibly taking over at the Emirates.
After hearing their club’s links to their former Bianconeri boss, Arsenal fans flooded to Twitter to voice their thoughts on their potential Emery replacement.
Many Gunners supporters insisted he would be a “huge upgrade on Emery”, and that he would immediately help with sorting their leaky defence out.
Check out some of the reaction of Arsenal fans below:
Look at him, I want that cheeky smile in the @Arsenal dugout ASAP

Huge upgrade from Emery. Went to UCL Final twice while emery had Mbappe + Neymar and couldn’t make it

Allegri starts of by sorting out the defence. However, his past teams have always been attacking and score lots of goals. He seems to get the balance right. He’s what is needed!

Allegri would be my 1st choice he would work on defence, that has needed work for far too long!

I think he is a proven winner and organiser . He also still has a good name in all of Europe football that may attract some of the better players to want to come to us . Like GG it may not be pretty but he delivers

World class manager that demands respect and success!! Players won’t cross him and is a winner. Should be our number one target

While he’s not my first choice now, Allegri was my first choice to replace Wenger back in the day, the man is an amazing tactician, he’s levels above Emery. You don’t reach 2 CL finals if you don’t have high caliber.

Meanwhile, Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had an afternoon to forget against Southampton.
