"I'm done if this happens" - Lots of Everton fans edgy about potentially "risky" Silva successor
The managerial speculation at Everton continues to rumble on as the pressure on Marco Silva grows.
Earlier this week David Moyes and Eddie Howe were touted with replacing the Portuguese while Mikel Arteta has also been in the pipeline.
However, a fresh name has now been linked with the job. The man in question is the 65-year-old Flamengo boss Jorge Jesus. Having recently won the Copa Libertadores, he is no stranger to failure.
But after seeing the possibility of the former Porto manager arriving at Goodison Park, Everton fans haven’t taken too kindly to the links.
In fact, they seem incredibly on edge about seeing Jesus take over the Toffees.
One fan was worried that the deal would be a risk, something which is a fair assumption given he’s never managed in English football before. A further individual had similar sentiments, suggesting now was not the time to be gambling.
Everton currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, just four points above the relegation zone. As a result, Silva’s job is seemingly on the line. Jesus would be an interesting appointment and he’s certainly had great levels of success throughout his career.
At Flamengo he has a 70% win success rate, while the same percentage was achieved when he was at Benfica.
Here’s the best of the reactions.
Too risky right now!
