"Ole is gonna make us bang average", "End is close" - Many MUFC fans fuming with transfer report
After a summer in which Manchester United spent a lot of money on signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire, you would have been hard pressed to find fans pinpointing £15m man Daniel James as the man to steal the spotlight.
The Wales international arrived from Championship side Swansea to relatively little fanfare, but has been the silver lining in what has been a difficult opening to the campaign for the Red Devils.
The winger has scored three goals and provided four assists across all competitions, and that success has now apparently led to some new thinking involving the club’s recruitment policy.
According to The Daily Mirror, United have “ordered scouts to dig for lower league talent” and that they are “trying to identify other young prospects outside the top-flight who could be available for better value for money”.
After hearing this transfer report, fans of the Manchester side flooded to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the matter.
Many Red Devils supporters insisted they are extremely unhappy with the way things are heading, with one fan in particular suggesting that this new approach is more of the mentality of a Championship side than a Premier League one.
Check out some of the reaction of United fans below:
We’re literally acting championship/relegation level side. Unbelievable.

Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is becoming a hindrance to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans due to one key flaw.
