Real Madrid & Man United: Raphael Varane & Gareth Bale updates
Man United, Raphael Varane & Gareth Bale
Trawl through the transfer gossip over the past few seasons and two Real Madrid players have been repeatedly linked with Man United.
The first is French centre-half Raphael Varane, while the other is Welsh forward Gareth Bale.
But will either of these players actually switch to Old Trafford in the summer?
Raphael Varane is staying at Real Madrid
According to Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, Raphael Varane will remain at Real Madrid next season.
Zidane made that categorically clear during a presser over the weekend. The coach said:
The positive point of this season is that Varane will stay.
They asked if Varane was staying.

Varane, now 26, has played 30 matches in La Liga this season for Los Blancos. He’s also featured in the Champions League and the domestic cup competitions.
It’s worth noting that Real Madrid have already boosted their defensive options for next season signing Porto’s Eder Militao. He’s only 21.
Sergio Ramos, 33, should continue to be Madrid’s main centre-half next season too.
What about Gareth Bale?
When it comes to Gareth Bale, however, it’s looking increasingly like he may be sold this summer.
In the latest update following Madrid’s 1-0 defeat away at Rayo on Sunday night, Bale didn’t travel with the rest of the Los Blancos squad after the defeat.
This is yet another incident in which Bale appears to be separating himself from his team mates.
Previously this year, Bale failed to show up at a dinner event for the Real Madrid squad.
