No fear: 76% of Aston Villa fans think £4.5m-rated star's future is clear
Losing the Championship playoff final would have been a devastating blow for Aston Villa following a hard-fought campaign.
Steve Bruce’s side were unable to find a way through Fulham as they were beaten 1-0, with Tom Cairney getting on the scoresheet at Wembley on May 26.
After licking their wounds, attention would have turned to playing personnel and the transfer window.
The main objective for Villa is to make sure that they can convince their key players not to jump ship.
The Midlands outfit have already lost John Terry, who has decided to leave the club after just one season in Bruce’s squad.
Jack Grealish, though, is the main figure that Villa will try to hold down.
The midfielder – valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt – has spent his whole career at Villa Park so far.
The 22-year-old has had disciplinary issues in the past, but in the latter stages of the season he was crucial for Bruce’s side, and he was arguably their best player in the playoff final.
Given how Villa’s season panned out, we asked you whether the Championship outfit will be able to keep hold of the midfielder, and the majority seem confident of doing so.
