"Fantastic signing" - West Ham fans excited about links to £40m wonderkid

West Ham fans are absolutely loving the latest transfer links, as reports suggest the Hammers will battle it out to sign England wonderkid Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

According to the Sun (29 May, page 52), both Everton and West Ham are keen to sign Loftus-Cheek this summer, with the Chelsea youngster unlikely to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge.

West Ham are in desperate need of reinforcements down the spine of their side, and the powerful but technically gifted Loftus-Cheek would certainly be a wonderful addition.

The 22 year-old grabbed two goals and three assists in 24 Premier League appearances on loan at Crystal Palace this season, and even earned himself a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The report claims teams would have to pay as much as £40m to secure his services on a permanent basis, so another loan for the youngster could be on the cards.

Averaging three dribbles, one shot and over one key pass per game this season, the Chelsea youngster would bring a little bit of everything to Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham.
