talkSPORT pundits deliver verdicts on Jack Wilshere after scoring in EFL clash
Poor Jack Wilshere.
There are very few players in the game quite as unfortunate as Wilshere when it comes to injuries, and we say that for good reason.
By our calculations, the 27-year-old has missed a total of 185 games of football and has spent an eyewatering 1,206 days out of action. There will be players in the world who struggle to accumulate that amount of appearances on the teamsheet.

Wilshere has made a good start to the 2019/20 season with West Ham United, and by that we mean he’s managed 183 minutes of game time without his legs spontaneously combusting.
Last night’s meeting with Newport County in the EFL Cup provided the proverbial icing on the cake as well: his first goal in around 600 days.
In light of Wilshere’s “achievement,” talkSPORT hosts Alan Brazil and Tony Cascarino have discussed whether fans can expect a comeback from “Jack” and what needs to happen in order to improve his chances of success (not points for guessing what that might be) …
“He has to play 15 games in a row to know if injuries have taken their toll.”
“There’s no doubt that with the ball Jack is a hell of a talent.”
