"Announce elimination", "Watch us lose" - Lots of Man Utd fans in meltdown after cup draw

After some shocks in the second round of the Carabao Cup this week, it’s time for the Premier League’s big hitters to enter the fray.

Most of the top-six were handed ‘winnable fixtures’, and Manchester United in particular will surely be licking their lips at facing League One outfit Rochdale at home.

The Red Devils’ most recent memory of the competition is certainly a forgettable one though, exiting the third round on penalties last season against Frank Lampard’s Derby County at Old Trafford.

After hearing about their side’s draw for this year’s Carabao Cup, United fans took to Twitter and it seemed like many are still suffering from the scars of the previous campaign.

Many supporters of the Manchester side felt they would be in for another “embarrassing evening” and backed the away side to pull off a major shock.

Indeed, some Red Devils fans even went so far as congratulating Rochdale on progressing to the fourth round without the game even being played yet.
