Arsenal Looking to Complete Christopher Nkunku Loan Deal After Yannick Carrisco Pursuit Fails

Arsenal want to complete the loan deal for Christopher Nkunku on deadline day after their attempt to sign Yannick Carrasco failed. The Gunners are aiming to complete a deal for the Paris Saint-Germain starlet, with Unai Emery seemingly keen on signing another winger following links with Carrasco and Inter's Ivan Perisic. According to BBC Sport's David Ornstein, the chances of Arsenal signing Nkunku are now 50/50, but potential deals for Carrasco or Perisic are unlikely to materialise. 22-year-old expected to complete Celtic loan exit today

Two Celtic wingers are expected to complete loan moves before the January transfer window closes, according to The Daily Record . What’s the story? Brendan Rodgers is expecting more outbound business than incoming as the clock ticks towards Thursday’s midnight deadline. Maryan Shved – albeit not officially a Celtic player yet – made a flying visit to watch last night’s 2-0 win over St Johnstone and will return to Karpaty Lviv after completing the formalities of his move to Celtic. And 22-year-old Lewis Morgan is set to complete his loan move to Sunderland, reuniting him with his old manager at St Mirren, Jack Ross. Winger overload Celtic are exceptionally well covered for wingers with James Forrest and Scott Sinclair returning from the winter break in top form. Loan signings Oliver Burke and Timo Weah have a nose for goal and are best used coming in off the flanks. As further back up Mikey Johnston is available while Jonny Hayes can also provide cover. In short, game-time for

Opinion: Signing 30 y/o attacker would give Middlesbrough the added creativity they really need

According to Football Insider , Middlesbrough have opened talks with Hull City over a potential deal for Kamil Grosicki before the transfer window closes. What’s the story? It would certainly be no surprise if Boro boss Tony Pulis is keen to boost his attack before the January transfer window closes for business, given his side has only scored 31 goals in 28 league games so far this term. That said, Boro are still going quite well in the Championship this season, with a total of 47 points leaving them in fifth position . Who are the best away fans in the Championship? Pl>ymaker FC’s Thogden gives his top 10 in the video below… Only four teams have scored fewer Championship goals than Boro this term, however, which is incredible when considering their spot in the table. According to Football Insider , Pulis views Grosicki as the perfect player to boost his options in the final third and a deal could go through on Thursday. That said, Football Insider also claims that Monaco

"Great to hear" - Loads of Newcastle fans react to Keith Downie's transfer update

According to Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie , Monaco defender Antonio Barreca arrived on Tyneside on Wednesday ahead of his reported move to Newcastle United. Barreca joined Monaco from Torino last summer and he has made nine first-team appearances for the relegation-threatened Ligue 1 outfit this season. However, according to Downie , Barreca was in England on Wednesday preparing to undergo a medical with Newcastle, which will take place on deadline day. It is understood that Newcastle will pay £1m to loan the defender for the remainder of the season, but the agreement will include a £9m purchase option. It is shaping up to be a very busy 24 hours for Newcastle, who unexpectedly beat reigning champions Manchester City 2-1 in the Premier League on Monday night. A number of Newcastle fans have been commenting on the Barreca update on social media, and a selection of their Twitter reaction can be seen below: Could do with a striker, rondon goes down and were knackered — NUF

"We never learn", "Good deal" - Loads of Stoke fans split on potential new signing

"Take it and run", "Wow" - These West Ham fans react as 26 y/o could leave before deadline

According to West Ham insider ExWHUemployee on Twitter , Middlesbrough are keen to make West Ham striker Jordan Hugill’s stay at the Riverside Stadium permanent, with the fee believed to be between £6m-£7m. There is talk Middlesbrough are looking to turn the Hugill deal to a permanent one for £6-£7m — ExWHUemployee (@ExWHUemployee) January 30, 2019 The former Preston North End hitman joined the Hammers last January but played just 22 minutes of Premier League football, according to Transfermarkt , before securing a loan move to Boro in the summer – things are looking up for the 26-year-old now, though, as he finds his shooting boots again in the Championship. With seven goals and an assist to his name in all competitions , the local boy is proving a good signing for Tony Pulis’ side but, with Lucas Perez having moved to the London Stadium in the summer and a deal for Maxi Gomez reportedly almost complete, as per Sky Sports , Hugill’s career in claret and blue may already be ove

Maurizio Sarri Attacks Chelsea Players Again After 'Disastrous' 4-0 Bournemouth Defeat

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has attacked his players again after the 4-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Wednesday, also questioning his own ability to motivate the squad. The Blues had the chance to move clear of Manchester United in the race for Champions League qualification but the heavy loss instead meant their spot in the top four was taken by Arsenal. Speaking after the game, the former Napoli boss again said he may not able to coerce consistent performances out of his players. Jurgen Klopp Questions Several Refereeing Decisions Following Liverpool's Draw Against Leicester

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claimed that several refereeing decisions made by referee Martin Atkinson went against his side during their 1-1 draw with Leicester City. Sadio Mane gave the Reds the perfect start with his goal after three minutes, although Harry Maguire's finish on the stroke of half-time secured a point for the visitors, meaning Klopp's side missed the chance to go seven points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. Aston Villa could be set to make the Championship's smartest January signing - opinion

According to The Birmingham Mail , Aston Villa could be very busy on deadline day as they look to tie up moves for three players in a bid to push for promotion, one of which is Newcastle’s Isaac Hayden – if the midfielder’s performance against Manchester City on Tuesday is anything to go by, he would be some signing and perhaps the Championship’s best this month. On the chalkboard The Magpies needed to bounce back after succumbing to a 2-0 defeat at home to Watford in the FA Cup the week before but, given City’s outrageous scoring record this month , it looked unlikely they would get anything out of it. However, a resolute performance from back to front saw Rafa Benitez’s men emerge the shock 2-1 victors and thus climb to 14th in the standings – with new arrivals potentially imminent, the St James’ Park outfit look in good shape for the rest of the season, despite a tetchy couple of months. Villa, meanwhile, are four points away from a top-six spot and need reinforcements in both m

Brendan Rodgers appears to confirm new deal for priceless Celtic star

Brendan Rodgers has all-but confirmed that Scott Brown is about to sign a new Celtic contract. What’s the word? The midfielder is out of contract in the summer and has held talks with Australian outfit Western Melbourne as well as receiving an offer the UAE – according to recent reports from The Daily Record . Brown was signed from Hibs in 2007 for a record Scottish transfer fee and has picked up eight title winning medals since making the move along the M8. It was reported on Wednesday that the Celtic skipper is set to sign a new deal, and following a 2-0 win over St. Johnstone, Rodgers appeared to confirm the rumours. As quoted by The Daily Record , Rodgers said: “He’s an outstanding player and I think the possibilities to go and try something else will come later on. Scott could be a coach here in the future. There will always be a role.” Priceless Experience It is easy to overlook or take for granted the influence that Brown has but as well as his experience, his ability to

Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe to join RB Leipzig on loan

Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe & RB Leipzig Emile Smith Rowe is being tipped to leave Arsenal to join RB Leipzig on loan on transfer deadline day. According to the Independent, Emile Smith Rowe has already travelled to Germany to complete his switch to Leipzig. Smith Rowe, 18, has scored twice for Arsenal in the Europa League this season. However the teenager has failed to gain minutes in the Premier League. By switching to Leipzig, the young English midfielder is set to play a lot more. As reported in the Independent : The 18-year-old has been assured first team action by Leipzig and Unai Emery and Arsenal have given their full blessing to Smith Rowe, who is seen as a long-term star at the club. Leipzig, who are currently fourth in the Bundesliga, have long held an interest in Smith Rowe but any decision to allow the teenager to leave was subject to Arsenal confirming the signing of Denis Suarez on loan from Barcelona. How Bournemouth neutralised the impact of Chelsea’s Jorginho

Bournemouth 4 – Chelsea 0 Chelsea were battered by Bournemouth in the Premier League on Wednesday. The Blues lost 4-0 at the Vitality Stadium as Chelsea’s top four hopes took a major blow. In fairness to Chelsea, they started the Bournemouth match brightly. However Maurizio Sarri’s men collapsed in the second half once Josh King opened. David Brooks doubled Bournemouth’s lead in the 63rd minute. King completed a brace in the 74th, before Charlie Daniels capped the win with a late fourth. How Bournemouth neutralised Chelsea’s Jorginho In recent weeks much has been made of Jorginho’s impact at Chelsea this season. Many believe that Jorginho has failed to improved the Blues. For the record, the Italian has yet to register an assist in the league, while his only goal came from the penalty spot. While Sarri continues to deploy Jorginho in the enforcer role, N’Golo Kane operates in a more wide-right position. After the Chelsea match, Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe revealed how the Che

Chelsea fans turn on Maurizio Sarri after Bournemouth embarrassment

Image
Chelsea embarrassed by Bournemouth Chelsea fans have started to turn on boss Maurizio Sarri following their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth on Wednesday night. Despite being considered strong title contenders early on in the season, the Blues haven’t exactly been in fine form over the past month or so. Earlier in the month, Chelsea were unable to beat Southampton who have been struggling all season. They then lost to Tottenham in the first leg of their Carabao Cup two-leg clash. A hard fought win against Newcastle papered over the cracks but they were then beaten 2-0 by Arsenal. They then scraped through to the next round of the Carabao Cup, beating Tottenham on penalties. Though, their worst performance of the month and potentially the worst of the season came against Bournemouth on Wednesday. Right decision: West Ham reportedly turn down seven-figure transfer bid

According to Sky Sports , West Ham United have rejected a £7m bid from Valencia for Javier Hernandez. What’s the story? To be fair, Hernandez being linked with a move away from West Ham is not exactly fresh news. The 30-year-old has scored five times for the Hammers this season, but largely struggled to settle since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2017. Hernandez’s contract with West Ham will expire at the end of next season and it does seem likely that the Mexican will leave sooner or later. According to Sky Sports , Valencia had hoped to tempt West Ham with an offer of £7m, but the bid was rejected by the Premier League club. Why must West Ham keep Hernandez? There were fears that Marko Arnautovic had suffered a potentially long-term injury during Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league. However, scans have revealed that the Austrian only suffered bruising to his foot and should therefore not be on the sidelines for too long. Lucas P
