Bruno Fernandes fitness update vs Brighton & how Daniel Farke plans to use his whole squad vs Arsenal

Man United beat Norwich in the FA Cup

Norwich City were within 120 seconds of taking Man United to a penalty shootout for a spot in the FA Cup semi-finals.

But, in the 118th minute at Carrow Road, Harry Maguire managed to scramble the ball over the line to earn Man United the win.

After a goalless first half, Odion Ighalo broke the deadlock for United in the 51st minute.

Todd Cantwell levelled for Norwich in the 75th, while the Canaries were reduced to 10 men when Timm Klose was sent off in the 89th minute.

Bruno Fernandes fitness update vs Brighton

Next up for Man United is a tricky trip to Brighton on Tuesday night in the Premier League.

Brighton have been one of the form teams since the Premier League restarted.

The Seagulls beat Arsenal 2-1 before holding Leicester to a 0-0 draw. Those results have significantly boosted Brighton’s hopes of staying in the league.

Will Bruno Fernandes be available for Man United in midweek?

Bruno Fernandes was one of the few United players to play 120 minutes against Norwich on Saturday.

Speaking after that game, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer indicated that Bruno Fernandes could still feature at Brighton. Solskjaer said:

Many of these players did not play the last game and now have 90 or 120 minutes in their legs. We have been drawn away every round so have done well to get so far.

We did make many changes, we still think that the players who play 120 minutes are fit enough for Brighton on Tuesday.

Three other Man United players also played 120 minutes against Norwich: Sergio Romero, Harry Maguire, and Odion Ighalo.

How Daniel Farke plans to use his whole squad vs Arsenal

Switching to Norwich, who are bottom of the Premier League, they travel to Arsenal on Wednesday in the Premier League.

Norwich will be without Timm Klose for the Arsenal game as he’s now suspended.

That suspension has compounded Norwich’s defensive problems. Manager Daniel Farke was already without injured defenders Christoph Zimmermann, Sam Byram and Grant Hanley for the match against the Gunners.

Speaking after the Man United game, Farke gave the following update for how he may rotate his squad for Arsenal:

It will be difficult in the Arsenal game, under the circumstances, perhaps with a few injuries and lots of workload.

But we will use the whole squad, change again a bit and hopefully we can deliver such a performance. If we can deliver such a performance then we have a chance, even at Arsenal.
