Club to force Man City fans to pay season tickets debts on Thursday despite Premier League suspension

Man City fans to pay season tickets debts on Thursday Many Manchester City fans will see a deduction on their bank statements tomorrow. As confirmed by the Times reporter Paul Hirst, Man City have decided against cancelling direct debit payments from fans for their 2019-20 season tickets. Of course, it remains to be seen if the 2019-20 Premier League season will be resumed.   Why are Man City collecting these payments? The Times have provided the following reasons for why Man City have not cancelled the season ticket payments: City said that the Premier League had decreed that the remaining games of the season had been postponed until April 30, rather than cancelled, but promised that fans would not be adversely affected should the matches be called off or played behind closed doors. Yet, there’s no doubt that these payments are likely to be impactful for many Man City fans who have been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. Manchester City anger fans by charging season ticket holder

Transfer stories during Covid-19 Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy made his feelings clear on Tuesday regarding most transfer stories doing the rounds right now. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc worldwide, it’s difficult to pay any attention to most transfer rumours in the press. How can football clubs pay hundreds of millions in transfer fees, when clubs are struggling to make payroll for their employees and people are dying in hospitals? As Daniel Levy said : When I read or hear stories about player transfers this summer like nothing has happened, people need to wake up to the enormity of what is happening around us.  Yet, on Wednesday morning, rumours that Manchester United could sign Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus are spreading fast.   View this post on Instagram   😷😷🐶🐶 A post shared by Matthijs de Ligt (@mdeligt_) on Mar 29, 2020 at 10:39am PDT Matthijs de Ligt & Juventus 20-year-old Dutch centre-half Matthijs

Spurs may follow Newcastle wage cuts, Saudis haggle for lower Toon takeover fee due to Covid-19 crisis

Tottenham may follow Newcastle wage cuts Of course it was going to be Newcastle United, right?! Newcastle United have become the first Premier League club to cut wages following the suspension of the Premier League season. The Times have reported on the reductions in salaries at St James’ Park: Newcastle have joined EFL clubs such as Birmingham City and Millwall in placing the majority of their workforce — with the exception of players and first-team coaching staff — on furlough. (Newcastle owner Mike) Ashley has now opened himself up to further criticism by taking advantage of the government’s coronavirus job retention scheme, which provides workers with 80 per cent of their wages up to a maximum of £2,500 per month. Tottenham may be the next Premier League club to take such cost-cutting measures. The Times confirm that Spurs may follow Newcastle’s lead in telling a large proportion of their workforce that they have been furloughed. Spurs are “under pressure” to cut wages as “

Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema criticises Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud using racing car imagery

Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema criticises Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has criticised Chelsea attacker Olivier Giroud on Instagram Live on Sunday night. Benzema laid into Giroud using racing car imagery, saying: You don’t confuse Formula 1 with karting, and I am being nice. Next… I know that I am Formula 1. He has his career, he does what he wants, scores the goals he wants. He is in his lane, I am in my lane, I don’t think about him. Aside from that, his style of play suits the French national team well. It works because he is there, that is the only reason. He is good because there are players like (Kylian) Mbappé or (Antoine) Griezmann who are fast and who play in the channels and pivot around the centre-forward. Him, up top, he weighs on defences, which allows the two others to move a lot and show a lot. He blocks and it works.  It won’t be spectacular, he won’t do something amazing, but he has his thing… Aside from that, does everyone like how he
